I have a similar situation on an upcoming flight, Air France IAD - BOM, and then the next afternoon BOM - COK on Jet Airways. From what I've read so far it sounds like I'd need to collect my bags and then recheckin for the domestic segment the next day since its not on the same ticket.

For my return I'm on AI COK - BOM, then international BOM - IAD 4 hours after landing, also not on same ticket, does anyone have any additional advice for how to handle checking bags to minimize the number of times I have to check them in or to make the transitions easier?
