Indeed, the fare is important, but I tend to use the cheapest fare an airline of "my alliance" offers on the route I want to fly, regardless of travel time and number of connections

Regarding Q15: That is correct; the essence of the quesiton is indeed codeshare. I was deliberately avoiding the term codeshare because I’m not convinced that everyone knows the meaning of the word. Therefore, to ensure that also "non aviation enthusiasts" understood what I was asking about I used an example instead.
However, your point is valid. If I were to write the question again I would probably use both the term and the example.
With respect to your approach to purchase of airline tickets, I must say do the same!
