It was the first class security line at BOS. TSA personnel did check the belt and the areas around the belt. The Admiral's Club announced it and a gate agent also announced it to the terminal. Nobody turned the glasses in.
Their point is that nobody told me to take my glasses off but I have been told to in the past so it has become a habit. They did separate me from my belongings for the pat down. Is there anything I can do to claim for the cost of the glasses from them?
Just to update on this. I sent an email to the TSA via the website and received claim forms. Filled them out and faxed them back. Got a letter at the end of April to say my claim had been assigned a 'control number' and a handler would be in touch soon. Received an email around the middle of June with a 'questionnaire' regarding my claim. I filled that in, sent it back. Heard nothing since so I rang this evening for an update. The handler said a settment letter was sent out this week, I'll need to accept it (she didn't know how much it was for) and sent it back before a cheque is issued. Hopefully it's for the full price of the glasses.
