That's key here. I used to be on the same boat and could not possibly justify the extra cost for business class.... till I tried it. So my advice to you is to never ever try C or F and you will save money and headaches trying to figure out ways to fly "up front" on the cheap!
C and F are like any other luxury: totally unnecessary until you try them and get hooked.
