The announcement made was an oversale announcement. It was clearly stated the compensation would be a flight getting in a half hour earlier. They were seeking three volunteers. I'm not pulling policies out of KM to argue. You keep bringing up invol policy which varies from what the OPs thread pertaining to vol. situations.
You might want to read the SOP again. For VDB: If the
customer asks to be placed on a different flight then they don't have to receive any compesnsation. If the
airline requests a passenger to move to another flight then compensation must be involved.
For IDB: If the airline IDB a customer and can get them within ONE hours of there orignal scheduled arrival time then by law they aren't required to get compensation. HOWEVER, Delta's SOP is to give the pax DL Dollars of what was last offered for VDB.
