When you do get home, the proper description for that "hike" should probably be "schlep."
Indeed, the part with the bags was definitely a schlep more than a hike. The part without was decidedly not. And we had to do the schlep part to get from the airport to the ferry after our WRY-PPW flight. Well worth it, especially getting to walk through a cow field along the way (we just left our bags road-side) to see a 5500 year old house. Surprisingly good shape considering the age and that it is believed to be the oldest still standing construction in northern Europe. And the afternoon half, without the bags, had us up on a beach that was simply gorgeous. Windy and chilly water, but beautiful. Well worth it.
