Long time reader, first time poster.

With the recent Megabonuses and all, I've been getting pretty close to that magical 3,000,000 point level when I become lifetime platinum (i.e., when I never have to stay in a Marriott again )

Anyway, I emailed Marriott the other day to see what my lifetime point total had hit and they told me that Lifetime Platinum was only 2mm points now. Can anyone confirm this? They also told me that I'd been a Marriott Rewards member for 11 years and had joined in 1998, so maybe the point change was wrong as well.
