bolding mine: do you mean not having a tso bring them over so to keep them visible/in your line of sight while you are maSSSSaged or you asking to take them with you. the latter should not happen but you most definitely should have your bags visible/in you line of sight at all times while undergoing a secondary screening-you were fortunate to have your wife with you as if it was me, the process would have stopped and stayed stopped until my bags were brought over
