cblaisd, your timing is better than mine for upgrades. Didn't get one unless you count being on the penthouse floor. All suites are sold out; and the only ocean view rooms available are smoking one, which is a death sentence for me. I do have a good view of the whaling wall though. The price was right, so I'm OK with no upgrade.
Gold/diamond breakfast consists of coffee, juice, cold cereal, fruit, bread, pastries, cottage cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and regular yogurt. It's $5 to upgrade to hot eggs + meat and toast. Diamond "gift" was two bottles of water.
There's a microwave in the business center, which I've never seen at a hotel before. The refrigerators in the rooms are not real fridges; they only keep drinks sort of cool and are not cold enough for food.
Newspaper at the doors is local one. Even delivered on Saturday and Sunday.
Business center: Computer time is 20 cents/minute. Printing is 35 cents/page; copies are 25 cents.
