So we finally get to DIA and pull into the gate and there is lots of activity around the jetbridge but no movement. Turns out that the marshaller had brought us in too close to the jetbridge and the #1 engine made contact. There is now a nice dent on the front/top of the engine nacelle on the heated (metal) portion.
I'm not sure if this plane will be flying tomorrow, but it will need an inspection at least. I would say the schedule is subject to change.
As for the flight itself, I had a very nice flight in the new First Suite with a great crew. Made me glad to be back on UA after two longhauls on SQ. (I realize that sounds strange, but the LHR-based crew really made a difference.)
The moral of the story: check the seatmaps over the next few days.
Sounds like my IAD-DEN flight last month. Diverted due to tornadoes touching down at DIA, so we sat in the springs for three hours. I bet the fuel crew were surprised to have a 777 roll in!! At least you had the AVOD to keep you busy during the delay.^
