Have a three month job coming and thought I'd try to get the RA status?

Do I have to have stayed in an IC hotel or resort for a night or two to qualify or can I do it as an Ambassador staying at IHG properties only?
Since Royal Ambassador status is worthless in any other brand then InterContinental hotels, you probably won't get any benefits in SB and CB hotels anyway.

Generally, it seems like the rule is 50+ nights in IHG hotels (any), including three different IC hotels. (Not three different brands)
So you could stay your 90 planned nights in IHG hotels, but you would need three stays in three different ICs (seems like three times one night is enough). If you have the chance, it might be worth it - when you consider staying in ICs in the future.
