So here's a new one for me. Checked in today for CMH - DEN, and at the counter was told I was #2 on the UDU. Not bad, I thought. At the gate, They made no announcement that first was full, but began boarding. I asked as the GA took my ticket, if first was full, and she said "Oh, yeah it's full".

No problem I thought, then I got on board. It was an a320, and I had my favorite economy seat in Y bulkhead, but as it was getting time to close the door, I still saw 4 empty seats in F.

Another Pax next to me complained, and the FA let her deplane to ask about her upgrade. She came back and was a little flustered, but she was told F was full.

As they went to close the door, still 4 empty seats in F. FA then let the Pax already in F spread out, and away we went.

Now I know I shouldn't expect an upgrade, and complaining about not getting a "free" upgrade is not something I would usually do. I did however, find it strange that 4 seats were open, and no one was upgraded. I know there were at least 3 of us waiting for those seats.

It couldn't be a seat issue, as the pax up front moved around once the door closed. Could it be catering or something of the like? I would have been much happier with the answer that we don't have enough food, compared to first is full, but oh well.

Anyone else ever see this?
