We may have to do that. I know they take pets and they often don't charge extra. My parents are in with La Quinta and have been for years. I haven't stayed in one since around 2004 and my memories were of an awful bed with a thin pillow, and not being able to sleep at all because of it.

I know many Starwood properties allow pets. Unfortunately the ones along our route don't really hit in the right places.

I'm also checking Marriott, Holiday Inn, and Hilton properties. If we overnight in the Raleigh/Durham area, there are a number of decent possibilities, including a couple of properties I've stayed in before.
