The fees associated with Points.com makes it too costly and undesirable. If you perform a search about using Points.com in
MilesBuzz! Forum, you'll find why Points.com is not popular among savvy FTers.
You also seem to not understand how much it cost to transfer miles between accounts. Just check out any FFP of your choice and see how much the airline charges for mile transfers.
FWIW, OP's situation is clear and simple. IMHO, she has much better options to get what she needs/wants than going through Points.com.
