luv2go2, my sincere condolences on your loss.
We recently transferred a deceased family member's AA miles, paying the $50 fee. Under the Terms & Conditions of the AAdvantage program, miles are not transferable upon death. We appreciated that we got a benefit to which we were not legally entitled. $50 seemed like a small price to pay not to lose those miles.
