There is another problem as many passengers with destinations in Europe who were transiting through DXB have been denied boarding at the point of departure and many flights to DXB have been flying with light loads.

The problem will be EK can not resolve this quickly by just putting on extra flights to Europe as many passengers are stranded at many places east of DXB and my experience of EK flights UK to BKK have nearly always full so if they could find 10% spare seats it will take 10 time as many days to resolve the back log, so with no flying to Europe for the last 4 days and looks like tomorrow is the same that will mean 50 days to resolve.
