Update- I was a bit giddy when I wrote the initial post. The seat is very comfortable in any mode other than "bed". I'm 6 1 and I don't fit length wise. The VS bed is definitely more confortable.
The bulkheads are definitely the seats to get, with the full-width footwell. In all other seats, the foot space is tight, especially if one is wearing shoes when the seat is fully reclined.
If you are a 'side sleeper' (the traveler for whom the 777 seat was designed so well...
), I do think the footwell is adequate, and my frame is hardly petite. With that said, in the future I will absolutely try to pre-assign a bulkhead if possible.
