They've been following these threads for months and I expect they will continue to do so.
Dear AMEX lurkers:
I tried Amex about 10 yrs ago and cancelled it when I realized how many places don't accept your card. If you would like to entice me to try your card again so I can see for myself that your card is accepted in many more places now, then please waive the fee for the first year. I will not pay you $120 just to find out that I can't use your card at many of the merchants I normally shop at.
Bravo on your choice of members from the various boards to deliver your marketing message.
