Why does this have anything to do with CO? As stated in my original post, I'm planning on using US miles and flying UA. Whether commingled classes are allowed on a single coupon probably would not be a specific carrier rule, it would

...normally an award doesn't need to be limited to one coupon, usually you can have many more than that. So one ticket, two coupons should work in your case...
Also as stated, I'm already planning on using 4 segments (coupons) per direction - 8 total. My question was whether I can get a Y award on the BOS-ORD segment of UA881 and a C award on UA881 from ORD-NRT, all while treating BOS-ORD-NRT as one UA881 coupon.
