Why does this have anything to do with CO? As stated in my original post, I'm planning on using US miles and flying UA. Whether commingled classes are allowed on a single coupon probably would not be a specific carrier rule, it would at least be an alliance rule.

Also as stated, I'm already planning on using 4 segments (coupons) per direction - 8 total. My question was whether I can get a Y award on the BOS-ORD segment of UA881 and a C award on UA881 from ORD-NRT, all while treating BOS-ORD-NRT as one UA881 coupon.
