Extra legroom is the only difference, but it's also more likely you will have empty seats in E+ than in E- on a less than full flight.
If this rumor turns out to be accurate,perhaps CO has been hearing their customers. I know for myself, E+ is the only reason I choose UA over CO-if upgrades don't clear, E+ is a decent seat and absolutely necessary internationally
