There is a thread in the ba forum that is discussing (among other things) making avis bookings via avisba.com - I Just canceled my avis.com reservation & rebooked the same car via avisba.com. My rental went from $250USD down to about $140USD.

Sorry I have no link making skills but The ba thread is called "Car Rental in USA via ba.com"
