Yes, of course. And one can use AA miles to fly BA between Bermuda or the Caribbean and London, as well. Which brings up this question: On an AA all-partner award routing between the U.S. and London via Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, or the Caribbean, would any of those connecting points count as the North American gateway for free stopover purposes, or is the North American gateway limited to U.S. cities?
Good question. I believe this point has been discussed and debated when the change first took place in May of 2009. I believe someone reported his stopover in Caribbeans was shot down. On the other hand YYZ & YVR seem to be sanctioned as qualified. My guess is, the gateway cities would have to be either US or Canada as in the domestic award.
