A couple of years ago, I had a cab ride in Vegas and the fare was around $12. I gave the guy a $20 and waited for change (planned on just taking $5 back). He asked, "you aren't going to let me keep the change?" I took my $5 and tipped him the rest but was a bit surprised.

I also have a question about tipping at buffets in LV and the US in general. Do you need to tip at a buffet in LV or in the US? When I'm in LV, I usualy eat at the cheap buffets like the 777. I don't see any one tipping usually there.
If I go to a buffet, I won't tip 15-20% but I'll usually leave a little bit of money since they do clear off plates and refill water, get drinks, etc.
