So if you pay $20 per visit, do you feel like you have to eat/drink that much to make it a "value"?

No, I did not quantify eating/drinking as the only thing that would provide value. But it is an important component. As I posted earlier, with a 1hour-1hr30 connection, I have 'useable time' of between 20-50 mins. If there are no decent snack options in the club, then in many cases I'll skip the club altogether so that I can grab a sandwich or snack somewhere else. When I'm no longer using the clubs as much due to cut backs they have made - then yes - this is not getting my expected value. A bowl of dry pretzel mix and some biscoffs is not an acceptable refreshment selection - particularly with the cut backs to inflight service whereby the connection time is the only opportunity to grab a light bite.

Without trying to take this thread to off topic, I'd hazard a guest that your views on this are in the distinct minority overall.

There has already been discussion on this board of a 'what if' scenario on DL cutting back MQM's and/or mileage awarded on the 'cheapy' LUT fares. There was a very significant push back from the frequent flyer base on this exact point and it would be a highly unpopular move.

FWIW, I pay more on many LUT fares Canada-US transborder for the same distance flown as people flying in certain domestic markets pay for Q, H or even M fares. It can be $600-$800 r/t, even on a LUT fare, for some journeys of just 1,000 or so miles. How do you quantify the 'revenue' important customers? You can buy an F ticket in several markets for less than what I pay for many of the LUT fares out of my home airport.
