As a BA Gold, you can:

You can select your seat with Advance Seat Selection on Qantas flights between seven days and three hours before scheduled departure, or from the time of booking up until three hours before scheduled departure if you are a Platinum, Gold or Silver Qantas Frequent Flyer or equivalent oneworld member.
However, I am not sure whether you can select a seat online or have to call. It's all automatic for Qantas FF'ers (and probably OWE/OWS too), but I'm not sure.
