Perhaps you didn't notice that this forum is called "FlyerTalk" for a reason?
I.e., it's a place for frequent flyers. You can earn miles/points on idine by eating at a participating restaurant anywhere you may happen to travel -- not just in your "current city." Furthermore, you can earn by purchasing gift cards from participating restaurants.
