Did the rep put you on hold and call the property? If not, call the Diamond line. Otherwise call the property directly. It is not uncommon for the GH NYC to allocate a higher category suite if no junior suites are available such as the Lexington. Some Diamond have been able to secure VIP suites as well.

I rang the hotel (used skype very bad connection) got put through to someone in the Club (i think) a few minutes explaining and wishing happy new year from Malaysia and while they were explaining they would do their best, I received an update from Hyatt concierge, noting that the Suite is confirmed. Thanks again.
