Since you have to assume that all liquids air travelers carry are dangerous explosives, when you confiscate liquids that are > 3.4 ounces, why is it procedure to literally throw all of the dangerous liquid explosives in a big garbage can together (..in an area full of people?)
The theory behind it is that it is preventative methods, people know they can't take liquids over size and thus will not try that avenue. (At least that is my reasoning behind it)

In Canada, it depends on how accessible the blades are, ie can you easily break it open and use the blades inside as a weapon?
