That's what scares me about this whole organization. It's almost as if the public has reached an unspoken agreement with the agency, saying, "We know you're incompetent. You know you're incompetent. But we have to pretend to be doing something, and if there are no terrorist attacks, we'll pretend it worked. If there is a terrorist attack, we'll address the issue at that time. As long as no one says anything out loud, we'll let it slide."

The TSA sounds increasingly like the mortgage crisis. The banks knew the loans were no good. The debtors knew they couldn't pay back what they borrowed. But as long as the system didn't crash around everyone, the system continued. And look at how that one ended...
