In any case, I travel on EK a lot, and I have to be honest, I've not heard of anyone else who has been upgraded for these reasons, in fact I have seen many people refused. I am sure the policy not to provide free upgrades to non frequent flyers exists purely because of people such as yourselves, who take advantage of the compassion of the airline/people who represent the airline working at check in or onboard.
I have a couple of contacts, I may try to find out what actually happened, I'd be very interested to know whether the scenario went as you described, indianindian2006, considering that your first post here was less than 100% truthful.
What do you know EKglobetrotter,Where and how did you get the idea that the injury was exaggerated.In my OP I never wrote about the injury being as severe as understood by you.As for the policy of Emirates or other airlines go take your advice to them and get that changed ,but to say that I took advantage of them all I will say is shame on you. I was ready to pay for the upgrade but just got lucky.
Also go use all your contacts to find out what happened and then you will come to conclusion that I was 100% truthful.
