Travel from a hub weekly to one location = 2 segments
50 weeks @ 2 segments = 100 for the year
Even with connections like me via ATL = 4 segments per trip
35 weeks of travel needed to hit 140 segments
35 weeks to acheive DM is not bad for domestic flying. In the past when I knew I would not fly enough miles I would connect on purpose to get the 4 segments, yes it sucks but can be done, especially if you near an airport not too far from a hub.
To get Diamond in 35 weeks in miles you would have to fly 3570 miles a week (1785 each way, more than 3 hours).
This is of course if you are not stiffing clients with YBM fares.
