After looking at my up to date personal redemption behaviour [150K HH points for a six nights Category 5 hotel award (GLON2)] and compare it to the table that works for redemptions from 1/15/10 (26.25K x 6= 157.5K HH points for a six nights Category 5 hotel award) I see a devaluation of 5%. If I find a Category 4 hotel (22.5K x 6= 135K HH points for a six nights award) that fits my needs, I gain by 10%. There might be another redemption option which I might choose: Points discount for Four or Five Nights reward nights.

As I don’t know if the new category structure will effects me – there must be a change as HH introduce a new category 7 – I am not able to forecast if I will move stays at Hilton brands elsewhere, but it is unlikely.
