if the ticket is issued on BA 'stock' it might be worth trying. The prohibition on BA metal only for MFU's is no longer so it may be possible. After all the RTW rules say no upgrades but you can use AA instruments to move up a cabin.
It might be worth a call to BA....and a small bucket of patience.
