I don't know if it will become a new field on boarding passes at some point in the future, as it does state it must match the ID you will be traveling on.
I had to do a manual booking at Delta last time I flew (oh, how I hope it is the LAST time!). The agent asked for the names exactly as they were in the passport. All of that appeared on the BP, except, of course, truncated. So it appeared as: LASTNAME/FIRST MIDDLE1MIDDL
Which should have been MIDDLE1 MIDDLE2. So what's the use of asking for it
exactly as it is in the passport if they can't use it?
