dingbatcat: I made the same experience. Comped to Diamond in July because of SPG Plat, but only until 02/01. Not, I am Plat. Offered the 20.000 points deal, too. But I calculated, how many Suite Upgrades I can buy with that, 2,5 to be exactly. Due to my Amex Centurion Card, I get RC Upgrade at time of booking in Germany anyway, so itīs not worth to "pay" 20.000 points for Diamond.
