AYCJ Pass bought by a Canadian

Ok, here's the poop. Bought the pass to visit old friends from school and my Pan Am days. My overall experience has been very good (these have been my first flights on JetBlue since they don't fly where I really need to commute) and I am generally impressed with their product. As a top-tier member of Star Alliance and Skyteam, I believe that they certainly offer a superior product as compared to the legacy carrier's economy class: More legroom, newer fleet, choice of snacks, very good entertainment system.

Here is what I have flown (and will fly over the last few days of the AYCJ pass):
SAN-JFK, JFK-BQN-MCO-BUF, BUF-JFK-BDA-BOS-BWI, BWI-BOS-RSW-JFK-BTV, BTV-MCO-BOG, BOG-MCO-AUS-LGB, LGB-SLC-SAN-BOS, BOS-CUN-MCO, MCO-PWM-JFK-SMF, SMF-LGB-SFO-AUS, AUS-FLL-LGB-IAD-MCO-SWF-HPN-FLL, FLL-HPN-MCO, MCO-SDQ, SDQ-FLL-RIC-JFK, JFK-MSY-BOS, BOS-AUS-JFK-PDX, PDX-LGB-JFK, JFK-MCO-SJO, SJO-MCO-ROC, ROC-JFK_SRQ-JFK, JFK-BUR

Now for the real question. Did JetBlue sell me on becoming a repeat customer? Yes and No.

The product is great.

JetBlue's lack of enforcement of safety absolutely did not buy my confidence! The F/As are ordered not to enforce safety regulations by the company. Cell phones during safety demos, closed window shades at exit rows during takeoff and landing, passengers using lavs during taxi, etc, etc, etc. I don't blame the cabin crews for not enforcing FARs since the company obviously doesn't back up its crews. Note to JetBlue Marketing/Management: THE PASSENGER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT!!!! I didn't appreciate having my safety put in jeopardy because some other passenger (self-important, above reproach, entitled .......) doesn't care about their own safety.

Will I fly JetBlue again? Unless they start improving their enforcement of safety regulations, absolutely not!!!

Incidently, some idiot F/A training instructor that has told numerous F/As that the reason that they don't need to demand that passengers open the window shades at the overwing exits "since they are designed to drop in a an emergency" should be fired! Note to idiot JetBlue instructor: The window shades at the overwing exit are designed to slide down since the operating handle above the window would prevent upward sliding of the shade....in order to "drop open in an emergency", you'd need one horrific downward load g-force impact which would probably not be survivable!!!! Even the Exit Row text on your safety cards requires "Look outside first" (access outside conditions) which is rather hard to do if the shades are closed!

Truly, JetBlue is AN EXPERIENCE!
