OK OK have your fun ... but seriously I did almost go to jail once, or close to it. I helped my daughter do an app-o-rama for BT purposes in late summer and when she went back to college in September, I ordered some BT checks. In the interest of time, I signed her name on one for deposit rather than mailing it back and forth .... the card company's fraud department tracked her down at college and sent her a scary e-mail at her college e-mail address (not the one she used with the application), asking her to call, saying they had this check, and they had reason to believe someone had applied for multiple credit cards in her name without her knowledge, etc. She almost called the investigator back and would have said she knew nothing about the check ... luckily we talked before then ... but it was a close call.
As for the Citi checking account, I may fund it next week from my office (because I need a fax machine to fax the authorization form, and don't have one at home) ... or I might just fund it with about 3K as an experiment, and if it goes well open a savings account and fund big. For now I'm just going to apply for some more mileage-bonus credit cards for her (having done my own round in August and my DH's last week).
