Yes it was wasted on me!!
I don't know if I waited too long to get into this game. I've positioned myself and only need to take the final step, but am starting to get cold feet. I (1) called Citicards and set my cash advance limit to $0 for my Citi AA Mastercard (and received a letter confirming); (2) opened a Citi checking account, have received the debit card but not the checks (which they say were mailed a week ago); (3) pre-paid the credit card to bring my available credit into the high five figures (I know it's not necessary but I wanted to avoid the hassle of trying to go above my credit limit).
When I read a post a few pages back where someone was told by Citi "we are no longer doing that" (putting credit card through as a purchase) my feet started to chill. After reading TheHawk75's post they are icy. Has anyone done this deal very recently -- in the second half of September -- with a Citicard? Could this deal be dead and if it is how to get my money back from the credit card - just send them an online message asking them to send me a check? Thanks!
