I'm actually more likely to do the opposite. If there is no reciprocal E+, and I'm likely to fly only 75k to 80k, I'll probably requalify for 1P and settle for CO silver. I usually can fly B fares on CO for business travel, so as long as I can B-up I will be happy, and I think you lose a little more between 1P and 2P vs. CO Gold vs. Silver.
