Yes, people have done more than their CL, and I regret not having thought of that. One guy here did 3X his limit (granted, if your CL is $100K, don't count on being able to run $300K).
IMO you've got the right approach by staggering when you open each account. You clearly want to run a 'full' charge each time. You may however want to use a different CC. I try to make this a part of my churn process (assuming you churn the Citi AA cards). Especially now that it appears the Citi AA Visa card is back, and with a 30K promo as well.
