misternice, thanks for pointing out the range of wifi, i had walked the length of the hallway and was able to get a signal but hadnt considered that it probably would do well through concrete walls. perhaps this request might be futile afterall.

or perhaps i might help future FT'ers staying here by writing a nice letter asking them to put in wifi.
