one way I can tell if there is any R at all is to look at my reservation details and if the option is there to "UPGRADE USING MILES" then there has to be at least one R seat...
you can also go through a booking of a new ticket that you're upgrading with miles. Set the number of tickets you want and that will give you the available R bucket.
