Old true story: a concierge in Chicago was approached by a guest and was told that the guest required a bag of eyeballs. The guest was speaking at an ophthalmology conference and wanted to put a handful of eyes in glass bowls at each table in the room. Conference was happening the next day. The concierge struggled and struggled before realizing that the Chicago stockyards would be the perfect answer, as the guest never specified that the eyes be human or glass or fake or whatever. The stockyard had no need for the eyes, so the hotel sent someone to get them.
I have actually called around cities hitting every butcher shop/slaughterhouse searching for pig's eyes to demo/train on a piece of surgical equipment. I usually have eyes shipped in from a company in TX but if I need them last-minute, I have to improvise.
