Your best bet to figure out where those comments came from was probably right there at the check in desk. You should have politely referenced what you have read since it was in plain sight and ask for explanation. If you call the hotel or customer service now they can claim that they don't know what you are talking about or that the comments were related to another guest. Or they may just tell you what it's all about - you won't know unless you call.

In general, every travel related business keeps those kind of data on their customers. It is up to them to decide how to use it internally and you may have hard time getting access to it since they are private companies whose business is not regulated by the government.
