The safety of the A330 (and that of other Airbus models) have been discussed before. Just have a look at, e.g.

Looking at that safety record, I hardly can see that the A330 seems to be an unsafe by any means. Why should Airbus be worried with such a record?

As stated before, there is no model around without order for modifications. Boeing had, Airbus had it and both of them will have it again. Yet, it does not make an airplane unsafe.
