The SAN 4P went through a refurbishment in the last two years and is far nicer then it was.
And you can generally get it for around $100 which is amazing for any sort of large chain in SAN(*).
(*) Chain in this case excludes hotels with the words Comfort, Holiday, Roof Inn in their name.
I stayed at a Comfort Inn in San Francisco on 101 near the water. It was not bad and I figured out how to screw them on parking. On the inside of the garage they had an air hose sensor that when you drive/step on the gate to the garage would open. I would drop off my friend at the side and he would go in and jump on the hose to open the garage, thus free parking
