The strategy must be to compare SAS to other airlines to actually prove that this is outrageous. With the worst earnings of all ffp's and the largest customer loss in the industry, SAS is running out of options. SAS International will loose even more American customers. Seattle route is gone and with these changes in addition to the 25% rule will be the nail in the coffin for American customers since no American program has a fuel surcharge. And SAS International is US + NRT now, the rest is not profitable.
So please help me provide a list of the cost for other airlines. Who has fuel surcharges, who doesn't and how much are they?
Thanks for your help
Here you go:
These are a few samples of what SK is now charging on award tickets compared to other airlines:
Eurobonus SK/KF STO-HEL 753 SEK
BA Executive Club AY STO-HEL 322 SEK (AY Plus probably the same)
Eurobonus SK/KF STO-OUL 1169 SEK
BA Executive Club AY STO-OUL 345 SEK (AY Plus probably the same)
Eurobonus SK HEL-BKK 3113 SEK
BA Executive Club AY HEL-BKK 329 SEK (AY Plus probably the same)
Eurobonus SK HEL-NYC 3376 SEK
BA Executive Club AY HEL-NYC 322 SEK (AY Plus probably the same)
BA Executive Club BA HEL-NYC 2862 SEK
Miles&More LH HEL-NYC 2992 SEK
Flying Blue AF/KL HEL-NYC 267 EUR (approx 2930 SEK)
Dividend Miles US STO-NYC 754 SEK (USD 50 of which is booking fee)
As you see, SAS goes from among the best to among the worst with regard to charges, sticking out with even higher charges than BA, LH and AF/KL for connecting travel to NYC.
