I've seen worse from baggage handlers, and it happened to be in DTW on NW. Sitting on the right side of the aircraft I had a clear view of the entire unloading process of the plane next to me (a 757 if I recall correctly). My jaw actually dropped as I watched bags being tossed from the cargo hold of the plane onto the ramp. It wasn't the tossing that surprised me, its that in the span of several minutes I saw at least half a dozen bags either miss the ramp completely and fall all the way to the ground or bounce on the ramp and then fall. From the cargo door of a 757 to the ground is a long distance.
Guy on the ground collecting bags seemed completely unfazed. He would occasionally wander over and collect the bags that had taken the "express" route out of the plane and add them onto the cart. Didn't say anything because I suspected it would get ignored and then just annoy me, but certainly made me fearful to ever check a bag on NW!
Ahh the benefits of unionized labor....
Video is fraking hilarious btw.
