So I discovered, since I am Chairman. I am sure some people have managed to talk them into it though. Maybe a short reservation when they don't expect to rent it otherwise.
A few experiences with this:
1. For a 4 day rental at PVD, I called the CC desk & they put a note on my profile asking for a Camaro. When I got there, they had one waiting for me.
2. At RDU, I asked for one but the manager said he couldn't because it was a week-long rental and he couldn't give it up that long.
3. 10 days later at RDU, I asked if they had any other upgrades instead of a CTS and the guy said, "How about the Camaro? It's a great car that I'm sure you'll enjoy" for an 8-day reservation!
4. At IAH, they wouldn't upgrade me from a Luxury to the Camaro for a 16-hr rental. They also wouldn't upgrade me to an Infiniti...
