To be a wee bit more specific: if I buy, say, a business-class RTW 29,000 miles package, do I get the "I/J/Z/C" rate for exactly 29,000 miles, or do I get miles awarded for each segment actually flown?

The latter could work out quite well if I take a few European (and/or US domestic) short hops, as I'm with Flying Blue and I'll get a minimum of 1,500 level miles for any I/Z/C class Europe Select segments. This also seems to me to be a half-decent way of maintaining elite/elite+ status - if it works at all!
