To be a wee bit more specific: if I buy, say, a business-class RTW 29,000 miles package, do I get the "I/J/Z/C" rate for
exactly 29,000 miles, or do I get miles awarded for
each segment actually flown?
The latter could work out quite well if I take a few European (and/or US domestic) short hops, as I'm with Flying Blue and I'll get a minimum of 1,500 level miles for any I/Z/C class Europe Select segments. This also seems to me to be a half-decent way of maintaining elite/elite+ status - if it works at all!
Thanks for your help.

You will earn miles for each individual and specific flight flown. The 29k is just used for calculating the RTW and has nothing to do with mileage accrual.
